Mark Limacher is a Composer-Pianist currently based in Calgary, Canada. He is a graduate of New School University in New York City, and has studied privately with composers Linda Catlin Smith and Laurence Crane. In 2013 he served as apprentice to composer Bunita Marcus in Brooklyn, NY.He has composed extensively for piano, solo instruments, and chamber ensembles, being particularly drawn to small gestures, soft dynamics, and delicately constructed aural textures. He is a passionate advocate for all things Quiet-Slow-Boring.

As a pianist and keyboard player he has performed with groups and artists such as the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Theater Calgary, and the Calgary Creative Arts Ensemble. He is well versed in many styles and genres, from Jazz and Classical music, to Musical Theater and Opera. He is an active member of the Calgary music community, and appears frequently at many smaller venues. His diverse and eclectic areas of musical interest include the music of Morton Feldman and John Cage, Sephardic music, Maghrebi & Middle Eastern music, and popular music of the early 20th Century.
