Annika Odegard: Pianist/Vocalist
Annika Odegard is a classically trained pianist from Calgary, AB, Canada and has travelled to over 25 countries performing as a pianist/vocalist. She has performed on various cruise lines (Celebrity Cruise Line, Azamara Club Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, Pearl Seas Cruises) as a pianist/vocalist as well as guest entertainer. Annika’s repertoire spans a wide variety of musical genres including jazz standards, rhythm and blues, folk, country, classical, contemporary, and popular hits throughout the decades.
Annika’s ability to connect with audiences by using her unique storytelling and acting abilities make every set an entertaining performance. Whether she’s performing in a lounge setting or entertaining larger audiences in theatres, she creates an intimate and personal experience for audience members of all ages. Her deep, rich, and soulful voice puts a fresh face on timeless classics. Her repertoire includes artists such as: Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Elton John, Carole King, Patsy Cline, Adele, Beyonce and Rihanna. With a repertoire of over 250 instrumental and vocal songs, Annika adjusts and tailors each performance to meet the needs of a particular audience in real time.
Annika discovered her love for music at the age of 4 when she began taking classical piano and violin lessons with the Royal Conservatory of Music. In addition to classical piano and violin training, she has extensive experience in musical theatre and has performed as an actress in over 20 major theatre productions. She has spent the past five years recording and performing as half of the CCMA nominated country duo, “Leaving Thomas”, most famously known for their Top 20 hit, “Blame It On The Neon”. In addition to her success in the Canadian country music scene, she has won numerous vocal competitions such as the Calgary International Blues Festival Competition, placed 11th on Season 5 of Canadian Idol, won the Calgary Stampede Talent Search in 2012, and was a feature performer at the Calgary Stampede’s Grandstand Show where the audiences exceeded 20,000 people nightly for ten nights and were from all over the world.
